It is not uncommon to have parties involved in an ugly situation point fingers at one another neither is seeing an unpitiful soul wallowing in self-pity, thinking that the whole world is against him/her.
When things go wrong, how often do you reflect upon yourself- your mindset, attitude, behaviour, actions, and the whole lot of them which directly and indirectly led to the unspeakable consequences? I am not trying to say that we ourselves are to be fully responsible for everything unpleasant that has happened to us. External factors (people, timing or even the weather) do matter and some of them are indeed impactful. But ultimately, we are the controllers of our own lives, and it is silly to keep thinking that things are beyond our control and hence shun responsibility when the nasty occurs.
No one is perfect. There is a monster inside each and every one of us and it breaks loose from our control at times. We exaggerate when narrating stories; we feign ignorance when made liable; we procrastinate a lot; we feed our own pride with others’; we do not say express our gratitude and love until it is too late; we express gratitude and love but not wholeheartedly; we can be so stubborn without how realizing how irritating we have become. This list goes on and though it may be biased, is not totally unfounded.
There is so much imperfectness in us and all around us. If there is one thing of imperfection we should change, maybe we should all begin from within ourselves.
或许你真正需要的不是安慰,而是自我检讨.....
否则再多的安慰也是白费。
