Our lives are determined by opportunities. We face choices and make decisions everyday. One decision leads to an action that will lead to another decision to be made. The list goes on and this list, when unrolled, turns out to be our lives.
Right move, right time, right person, right choice. How do you know what's right and what's not? How can you be sure that you have not missed an once in a lifetime opportunity?
Sometimes, it is plain clear to us that once we let a particular opportunity slip by, we will be in deep regret after that moment of indecisiveness. Other times, we wouldn't feel the ache until we finally see what the opportunity was offering to us back then. And perhaps, some opportunities are so well-hidden and obscure that we will never know what we have missed, not ever.
There are so many possibilities in this world. But what are the possibilities of meeting the same opportunity for a second time, or better, a third time? When you take it up on the second occasion, would you have already missed the right time for it? In other words, are you too late for it? Some unknowns are not meant to be made known, not ever.
Unknowns, possibilties, opportunities. Together, they create stories. They make our lives exciting. They cause heartbreaks and joy. They teach us about love and loss, treasure and move on.
Seeing the lives of others, I can't help but think of my own. To age the natural way or backwards- both will inevitably end up with losses. And at the very end, yes, we all have to let go. This, we all know.
